What to remember, what to forget ..

A story tells that two friends were walking through the
desert. During some point of the journey,
they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.
The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "Today My Best Friend Slapped Me in the Face."
They kept walking until they found an oasis, where they
decided to take a
bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and
started
drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from
the near drowning,
he wrote on a stone: "Today My Best Friend Saved My Life."
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked
him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand, and now you write on a stone.
Why?
The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us we should
write it down in the sand where the winds of forgiveness can erase it away.
But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone, where no wind can ever erase it."
WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.
يحكى أن صديقان كانا يتمشيان في الصحراء. و في إحدى وقفاتهم في رحلتهم الطويلة، جرى بينهما نقاش حاد، انتهى بأن صفع أحدهما الآخر على وجهه. الرجل الذي تلقى الصفعة تألم، و لكن دون أن يقول كلمة واحدة، كتب على الرمال: "قام أعز أصدقائي بضربي اليوم"..
استمرا في المشي حتى وصلا إلى بحيرة، حيث قررا الاستحمام فيها. الرجل الذي تلقى الصفعة علق في البحيرة و كاد يغرق، و لكن صديقه قام بإنقاذه.. بعد أن خرج من المياه و استعاد طمأنينته، كتب على الصخرة المجاورة: "قام أعز أصدقائي بإنقاذ حياتي اليوم" ..
سأل الرجل الذي قام بالضرب و الإنقاذ: "عندما آلمتك، كتبت على الرمال. و عندما أنقذتك، كتبت على الصخر، لماذا ؟؟"
رد الرجل الآخر: "عندما يقوم أحد بإيلامنا علينا أن نكتب ذلك على الرمال.. حيث تقوم رياح السماح بمسحها .. و لكن عندما يقوم أحد بصنع جميل تجاهنا .. فعلينا أن نحفره على الحجر حيث لا يستطيع أحد مسحه .."
اكتب آلامك على الرمال .. و احفر معروف الناس على الحجر ..
